Do Your Kids Still Believe in Santa?

Let the kids dream, just a little bit longer…

You are here: Home / Christmas Story / Do Your Kids Still Believe in Santa?

December 12, 2010 //  by Robin//  Leave a Comment

Why would you encourage your kids to NOT believe in something as miraculous as ‘SANTA,’  if given the choice?  With all the negative elements we’re up against, while trying to protect our children…

In this world filled with gangs, drugs, dishonesty, lack of morality, and ‘cheap shots’- HOW can we let them embrace any, or ‘all of the above?’  We OWE it to them, to let them embrace ‘immaturity’ for as long as they can!  They have a LIFE TIME still, of having to do and believe in the mature things, in order to survive!

Believing in Santa, is a luxury that most of us didn’t have the freedom to hold on to!  Let’s be of the generation that ALLOWS it!  Believe it or not, many of our kids WANT to still believe– even at the age of 13 or 14!  If that’s the case? LET THEM BELIEVE!

Look what happens to us as we grow… we LOSE our sense of ‘imagination,’ while hearing voices talk about ‘wisdom’.  We should NEVER know, what we want to be, when we ‘grow up!’  Even AFTER we ‘grow up,’ we should have Options!

When people older than us, mention the ‘tooth fairy, Easter Bunny, Santa, etc… there should Always be an ‘element of Doubt!’  We should Never be so secure in knowing the difference between reality and fantasy! That is like being Robbed of our innocence.

To this day, I wish I could sit on Santa’s lap, and ask him for advise in raising my kids. Why can’t he explain to my daughter, that her boss is just ‘insecure’ and makes her jump through hoops for that reason… or why can’t he hug my son, and tell him his coach is just a ‘jerk,’ that lost sight of what the game is really all about?

Maybe I should talk to my Mom…  she may have these answers, and I know for a FACT- that SHE still believes in Santa!
