What Could he See in Me?
What Could he See in Me?

On my way home from work last night, I had an LIRR train transfer, got off, went to the little store and was approached by a tall, good looking teen, or so.  He said to me, “didn’t we go to school together?” (with a twinkle in his eye!) I looked at him and laughed, “School? What are you a senior??” He says, “no, it’s my first year in college, and I just wanted to stop you and talk to you because you’re pretty, and I sorta feel like I’ve been waiting for you.” I’m now thinking I must have  a sign on me that says, “Talk to me, I’m Gullible.” I start to walk away thinking this guy is off his rocker, and he FOLLOWS me! Running after me! Bunch of people all around, he says, “Wait! What’s your name, my name is Aaron.” I found myself admiring this kid for his chutspah, and told him my name, he held out his hand to shake mine. This all being within 5 minutes, he tells me he decided to go back to college after screwing around too much for the last couple years, he’s 21 and is really looking for a serious relationship. He was DEAD SERIOUS. I have a DAUGHTER his age! I wished him luck, and again he ran after me, saying, “wait… let me just give you my number.”  I had to stop, look him closely in the eye, thank him for making me feel special, and tell him I’m the wrong one he’s been waiting for. God Damn it, he was actually crestfallen! What??  Is Up??
