Was looking through drawers tonight…

Looking through drawers is like reliving your life!
Looking through drawers is like reliving your life!

How could I have forgotten certain things like… I modeled in teddies that were almost… nothing?  I showed my husband and asked, “when did you take these?” He said, “I didn’t.” That’s how THAT fight started!

I then read a few calendar books of mine, that showed appointments from years ago… I forgot that I’d gone out several times with Al Cooper.  HOW do you forget this?  I did a promotion with Julio Iglesias when I was with WPIX Radio.  I found pictures!  What I remembered about that day, was that, that was the day I discovered I was pregnant with my first child, and I didn’t want to BE with Julio. I found him to be very pompous! LOL!  Maybe he was having an ‘off day’ too.  I then continued reading in a calendar book dated two years later, that I’d gone out several times with Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys. Now, this I hadn’t forgotten, but I HAD forgotten how OFTEN we’d gone out. Sheesh! I think those ‘Good Vibrations’ did something to my head??

I don’t even bother telling my kids any of this, because …well… what for?

My 16 year old found a Time Capsule today, in her closet. It was covered in dust, and dated Dec-2000.  She decided it was time to open it, and see what she’d felt was important back then. One of the things she read, was a test from school. On it, written in RED INK was a note from her teacher that said, “Lacey- I saw that you wrote me a note, telling me your mom accidentally threw out your homework.  Could you please tell her from now on, if she doesn’t see a SMILEY FACE or a FROWN on it, that it has not been graded yet? This way, she’ll know NOT to throw it out AGAIN! This has happened several times already, Lacey or I wouldn’ t feel the need to write!”

Hahahaha!  10 years later, I’ve done the same thing to ALL my kids over and over again! Hey! If they can’t keep themselves organized? What makes them think I’m any better? Jesus Christ! Apples don’t fall far!
